I still remember (because yes I’m that old) the very first time I saw my first Star Wars movie. It was, in fact, the first Star Wars movie ever made and had just been released in theaters. I actually had to wait a week to see it because the line ups were insane. I was still a kid and my parents wouldn’t let me camp out in line overnight like so many were doing. Once I finally got to see it though, it was completely worth the wait. It stayed in the theater for over a year and my friends and I went back to see it 37 times.
So, you’ll get it if I am understandably super excited about the prospect of another new Star Wars movie. This one, Rogue One, really has me intrigued too. It is going to be the first movie in the Star Wars Anthology series which is a collection of stand-alone movies set in the Star Wars universe. Lucasfilm’s ROGUE ONE, which takes place before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, tells the story of unlikely heroes who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star.
The cast includes Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, and Forest Whitaker. ROGUE ONE is directed by Gareth Edwards, produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur, and Simon Emanuel, executive produced by John Knoll and Jason McGatlin, and co-produced by John Swartz and Kiri Hart.
