I love me some Netflix. It’s such a great way for me to be able to watch what I want when I want (rather than at the mercy of the TV schedule). I love that I can pop on a TV series and Netflix will just keep the episodes coming – it’s perfect for a weekend binge!
So, here’s the thing. While other people are busy making New Year’s resolutions that they are just going to break in a couple of weeks (days?), I believe in making ones that you can actually follow through on. Netflix is going to help me with that.
Yes, I’m being a little silly here but bear with me, because I actually think there’s something valuable in this idea. Too often we put pressure on ourselves to be better, to perform higher, to be and do MORE. I think we forget that if we want to reach for more, if we want to give more, then at some point in time we’re going to have to fill the well. We can’t keep pushing ourselves without replenishing ourselves.
So, pop some popcorn, grab your family and friends, and snuggle up on the couch for some Netflix favourites old and new.
Personally, I plan to hunker down with plenty of Gilmore Girls this year (while I await the much anticipated revival – squee!). Yes, I’ve already seen the series all the way through. For my daughter and me, it was “our thing” to watch it together when it first aired. It’s also the reason we named our blog, Gagen Girls. But I can’t wait to watch it all over again right from the beginning.
