Recently I was sent a copy of Canada Doodles, a super fun book for kids (big and small) to learn more about Canada while they have fun drawing and colouring. The book shares all kinds of Canadian events and icons in it, usually in the form of an unfinished drawing that allows you to finish the picture! You can finish the Inukshuk drawing, add sprinkles and icing to decorate your Tim Horton’s doughnut, or draw your face on the Jumbotron at a Toronto Blue Jays game. All of the pages are black and white illustrations so your kids can colour them in too!
It’s a great pocket sized book perfect for travel or taking along to the beach or even the doctor’s office. Fun facts from the book:
~ For 10 years now, Manitoba has been named the Slurpee capital of the world!
~ Drumheller is home to the largest dinosaur in the world, a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
~ Icebergs usually only show 1/9 of their volume above water.
In honour of Canada Day, I not only have three printable sample pages from the book for you to print out and use with your kids BUT I’m also giving away a copy of Canada Doodles, signed by the author. Head to the bottom of the page to enter on Rafflecopter. Open to Canadian residents, excluding those in Quebec(sorry – raffle laws prohibit me from including those of you living in Quebec). For the printables, simply click on the link under each picture to access the PDF.
